During a recent trip to Germany, we came across the following convenience store while walking around in Hamburg. My father and uncle dropped in to see if Knoop was the proprietor’s real name (instead of a clever marketing campaign 😉 and indeed it was! The store can be found on the Colonnaden.

My dad’s name is William Turner Knoop (known as Wilkie) his dad was born in 1847 and from the view records we have Mecklenburg is a town from which he sent correspondence to my gran. we know that his dad Hans Knoop was born in Tollensee and went to school there.
